Customs is a comprehensive subject and requires good management within your logistics process. Freightweb2Go, in cooperation with a team of experts, offers a complete solution for all your custom issues.

Some examples of things you need to consider and what formalities are necessary;

Import

Declarations of entry

All goods entering from outside the European Union as a Dutch importer must be cleared by the Dutch Customs.

Limited Fiscal Representation

Through Limited Fiscal Representation FreightWeb2Go is able to deposit a declaration of entry in the Netherlands for importers in other European Member States. VAT reversed charge will be stated through an Intrastat Listing to the foreign entrepreneur.

GDB-document/ Common Veterinary Entry document

When importing veterinary goods / food imports from outside the European Union you must have notified the Dutch Food Safety Authority (NVWA) before arrival of the shipment. This notification is submitted with a GDB (Common Veterinary Entry Document for veterinary goods).

Phytosanitairy goods

Phytosanitary goods must be reported at the Plant Protection Service and the Dutch Food Safety Authority (NVWA). Also Freightweb2Go has provided the mandatory notifications for wood packaging from China of various (natural) stone products since April 2013.

Export

Export declarations / export documents

For goods produced / obtained within the European Union and are to be exported to a country outside the European Union, an export document has to be made.

Certificate of Origin

A Certificate of Origin is a document that indicates the origin of a product and shows in which country the product was made. Various countries outside the European Union require a Certificate of Origin with the importation of goods. This might be done for political reasons, where goods imported from certain non-friendly nations, are restricted or even prohibited. Or for trade policy reasons where the importation of certain goods are restricted in order to protect their own markets.

EUR 1 document

The European Union has established free trade agreements with several countries and groups of countries. If you are exporting to one of these countries, it may be the case that you need a EUR 1 document besides an export document. With this document the importation into the country of destination can be done with reduced or total relief from import duties. A EUR 1 document needs to be legalized by the Chamber of Commerce and has to be signed by the Customs authority indicating the number of the export document.

T2L document

When you want to ship by sea goods that have been produced in the European Union to another Member State of the European Union, you will need a T2L document. If goods have been previously imported into the Netherlands and then shipped overseas to another Member State, you also require a T2L document.

Transit

Transit documents/NCTS documents

Goods entering the Netherlands, but that are destined for other countries in the European Union (EU), are under customs supervision. These goods will not be cleared and a transit declaration is created.
